In the post-war government collapse of a corporately globalized
world, a Rastafarian fugitive, wrongfully imprisoned at a young
age, must fight his way through seven economic zones to find the
only free land left - Zion.
Civilization has been globalized. After many years of war, the
corrupt and ailing government became unable to support its troops
and sold them off to the highest bidder. Within years a new corporate
control emerged. Lines separating culture, race and religion became
blurred in favor of division according to wealth. Areas that were
once considered cities and states were reorganized into seven
economic zones, establishing class rule amongst the population.
The wealthy elite, wanting for nothing, secluded themselves in
the primary real estate of Zone1, with the plush landscapes of
Zones 2 & 3 populated by the upper and middle classes. Zone
4 became a barren divide between rich and poor, largely abandoned
and populated sparsely by those lost in the economic rezoning.
The working class was reorganized into the industrial labor pool
of Zone 5, with the poorest citizens relegated to the gang-ruled
ghettos of Zone 6.
For fear of uprising or rebellion towards this new class system,
the use or possession of firearms was deemed illegal to anyone
outside of the military control, nor was anyone allowed to travel
into wealthier zones without the proper papers. Violation of these
laws resulted in indefinite relocation to Zone 7 – the prison
zone.
Doc, a man wrongfully imprisoned in Zone 7 many years ago has
escaped. With him is Sheva, an orphan girl born into prison. News
of their escape has reached the airwaves and a sizeable reward
has been offered for their capture. Fugitives, they must now make
their way across the zones in search of Zion, the last free land
rumored to exist beyond Zone 1. But each changing landscape holds
new danger as diverse warriors, hopeful to collect the bounty
and improve their own class status, seek to stop them.
Our story begins mid-journey in the barren lands of Zone 4.
